My Hero Academia Season 4 is currently streaming and it has everything from new heroes to revamped fights. More importantly, it’s a fresh excuse for fans to celebrate the anime comeback and get really creative about it. The franchise has inspired a large following worldwide and from time to time, in its unique take on heroism, the Japanese anime takes on mainstream superheroes too. A fan decided to take on the influence of superhero tropes and jam them into crossover art.

Artist Oddmakesart took My Hero Academia’s Deku and placed him in a scene from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The artwork features Deku struggling to lift off steel beams. The character has been sketched in a mix of manga and Marvel comic book art and it’s the perfect homage to the most popular Marvel hero. Check out the amazing fan art here:

The scene depicts an iconic moment from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ #33 in which Spider-Man is trapped under a pile of steel beams. He almost gives up before managing to push it off him and get up. It’s a major winner for fans and the scene was later added in MCU’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Although it wasn’t quite the same, the Tom Holland starrer famously recreated the scene in a unique take on the original. We think the mash-up makes perfect sense as the character tropes between Deku and Peter Parker aren’t all that different and we can totally picture the young heroes sharing similar trials in their superhero journey. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, everything is better when it’s mashed-up with anime like that Itachi x Jon Wick artwork we couldn’t stop raving about a while back!

As per reports in comicbook.com, manga creator Kohei Horikoshi is a big fan of Spider-Man and has referenced the character in the manga in Easter eggs. So this fanart was long in the making. We totally stan Deku Parker and everything he stands for!
