Marking the unofficial divide between summer and fall, Labor Day isn’t just a free Monday off (for some) in honor of the U.S. labor movement. It’s also one of the biggest sales weekends of the entire year, especially for big-ticket items like 4K TVs and mattresses.

Unlike Prime Day and Black Friday, this year’s Labor Day deals look to be panning out as (mostly) normal. The main difference that we’re seeing is (unsurprisingly) an increase in offers related to people’s quarantine shopping habits — i.e., more deals on loungewear, camping equipment, gaming gear, and yes, even some face masks. In fact, video games are getting so much attention sale-wise this year that we’ve decided to give them their own category instead of lumping them in under “Tech” — more on that in a sec.

Labor Day 2020 happens to coincide with several major gaming savings events, including Playstation’s annual Essential Picks Sale (which features $10 off The Last of Us Part II), Ubisoft publisher sales at both Microsoft and Nintendo, Humble Bumble’s End of Summer Sale, and the multi-retailer Intel Gamer Days Sale on gaming laptops. In other words: If you need something new to play or play on as we head into fall, you’ve got a veritable feast of options.
